Fourth of July Extravaganza

  • In partnership with the Cashiers Village Green, we offer a 20 minute firework display!

Cashiers Trail Mix

  • Team Adventure Race and Trail Run! This event will take place at Ralph J. Andrews Campground! Please stay tuned for further details regarding this event.

Goblins on the Green

  • In partnership with the Cashiers Village Green, this is a Halloween themed special event. It is held the Friday before Halloween from 5-7pm. This free event is open to all youth under the age of 10. Various community groups have booths set up around our trail and pass out candy and treats to participants. No registration is taken for this program.

Kids Funday

  • On holidays where children are out of school, look no further for things to do! We take various trips such as trampoline parks, and ice skating to make that holiday a fun time for everyone!

CPR/First Aid Classes

  • Jackson County Parks and Recreation hosts 2 CPR and First Aid classes per year. Registration for the may Class will be in April while registration for the November class is in October. Fee for this program is $40.00 and limited to 20 participants ages 14 and up. Classes are on a week night from 6-9pm. Certification lasts for 2 years through American Red Cross.

Carpenter Classic Golf Tournament

  • Annual golf tournament held at Trillium Links and Lake Club. Held the first Monday in October. All proceeds go towards helping Smoky Mountain Senior Games and also the Jackson County Special Olympics. For more information or to register please contact either one of our Recreation Centers. 

Ski/Snowboard Lessons

  • Downhill Ski/Snowboard Lessons are open to everyone ages 8 and above. The Parks and Recreation Department partners with Cataloochee Ski Resort in Maggie Valley to offer participants the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard at a discounted rate. Lessons are taught on Sunday afternoons in January and February for 5 weeks. Your lift ticket is valid from 12:30-4:30pm and lessons are tought from 2:00-3:30pm. If you have never skied or snowboarded or just want to brush up on some new tricks, the Cataloochee Ski School has an instructor just for your skill level. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the Ski Resort.
