Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department offers an array of programming for all ages from youth sport leagues, family pool activities, and senior fitness classes. With recreational facilities including athletic complexes, full service fitness facilities, passive and active parks, and trails and river accesses we strive to meet the diverse recreational needs of the citizens and visitors of Jackson County.

March 25, 2020 - Parks and Recreation Department updates:

ALL DATES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE!!!!!

  • Spring Soccer Season has been cancelled due to time constraints. Refunds will be mailed out mid-April. *** Remember Fall Soccer Registration July 1st-31st ***
  • All other Youth and Adult programming is tentative to start may 18th week.
  • Both the Cashiers/Glenville and Cullowhee Recreation Centers will reopen on May 16th.(Extensions, refunds or credits will be added to all memberships that were active as of 3/16/20) Fitness classes will resume on May 18th.
  • Parks will remain open with the exception of East laPorte River Park and Little Canada Community Park. All playgrounds, bathrooms and outdoor exercise equipment are closed until further notice.
  • Please use your social distancing while using the parks. Remember when using Shelters, Basketball and Tennis Courts that the social distancing and gathering numbers apply to these areas as well. 
  • Fun 4 Kids Summer Camp Registration is still on for Saturday, April 18th starting at 11:00am ONLINE ONLY. Due to the uncertainty of the school calendar, no deposit will be required.
  • Ralph J. Andrews Campground will open May 16th. Any reservations made prior to this date will be refunded or rescheduled to a later date. Please call the campground at 828-743-3923.
